Post Falls Senior Scam Jam – Thursday, June 14th
BBB participates in event to educate seniors to avoid scams
We are proud to announce our involvement in the Post Falls 2012 Scam Jam, an event to help prevent elder fraud and financial abuse. On Thursday, June 14th, the Post Falls Senior Center and the Idaho Department of Finance will host an all-day conference with presentations from Marilyn Chastain, Securities Bureau Chief of the ID Department of Finance, Post Falls Mayor Clay Larkin, and Shelly Enderud, Post Falls Director of Finance and Support Services.
The conference begins with registration from 8-9 a.m. and includes a complimentary sit-down lunch and refreshments. The conference concludes at 3:30 p.m. with closing ceremonies and a drawing for door prizes.

Sponsors of the Post Falls Scam Jam include the Better Business Bureau, the CSI Office on Aging, Idaho Department of Insurance, SHIBA, the Idaho Commission on Aging, AARP, and the Idaho Bankers Association – all of which joined together to offer this free Senior Scam Jam Conference.
The Senior Scam Jam will feature topics such as Adult Exploitation and Protection conducted by the Area Agency on Aging, Detection of Internet Fraud and Charity Scams by the Post Falls Police Department, and an identity theft panel including Post Falls Police Detective Rod Gunderson, Idaho Department of Finance Examiner Daniel Kline and BBB Outreach Coordinator Beve Bryant.
A shredding truck from Recall will also be available from 8 am to noon for consumers who want to bring personal financial documents for shredding, such as cancelled checks, credit card solicitations, bank statements and other documents containing personal and financial information.
